COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES FOR 1952

A meeting of the Committee of the British Mathematical Colloquium was held in the Royal Naval College, Greenwich on July 30th 1952.

  1. The minutes of the Committee Meeting held in Bristol in 1951 were read and approved.

  2. The following elections were made:

    Chairman: L M Milne-Thomson.
    Chairman of the organising committee: J L Burchnall.
    Secretary and treasurer: J V Whitworth.

    Dr J V Whitworth was co-opted on to the committee.

  3. The programme for the 1953 Colloquium was discussed and it was agreed that if possible one day should be devoted to each of Analysis, Topology and Differential Geometry, Algebra and Number Theory.

    Detailed suggestions were made for the programme and a copy of these has been forwarded to Professor Burchnall.

  4. Professor Hodge suggested that the 1954 Colloquium should be held at Cambridge and said that he would look into the matter.
