Lunar features

Lunar features named after mathematicians

About 300 mathematicians have lunar features (mostly craters) named after them.
You can see an account of how these features were named and whom they were called after.
Be warned that the list of lunar crater names is large (about 600K).

You can see the features by clicking on the (*) next to a name. This will take you to the US Naval Research Laboratory Website allowing you to access images taken from the Clementine satellite.
