Dear Gap-Forum,
Dear Professor Neubueser,

Thank you for your kind advice about my previous mail which
announces the opening of a Japanese mailing list for GAP.

I am sorry to have bothered you by using Japanese letters in the
previous mail. I just intended to attract Japanese members by
unexpected appearance. The contents was the same as those written
just before them by English Alphabet. Please see them like the
starting banners of GAP and ignore them.

Of course, I do not intend that this new mailing list will result
in separating a Japanese branch from the mainstream of the development
and use of GAP.
As you know, almost all Japanese are handicapped linguistically
because Japanese language is quite different from Indo-European ones.
Even English is not so easy for most Japanese. So there should be a
mailing-list in Japanese by all means for Japanese workers to make
better understanding of GAP.

it would be helpful, if you, as the maintainer of this
mailing list, could make sure that issues of general interest, such as

bug reports, fixes and in particular discussions of the solution of

mathematical problems using GAP find their way in English to the

respective general GAP addresses, such as gap-forum and gap-trouble,

either by encouraging your Japanese colleagues to write such messages

in English or by translating them and in either case forwarding them

to these addresses.

I am sure that I will follow your advice.

Lastly, I thank you again, for not only receiving the mail but
giving
us such a magnificent program as GAP. I am also glad that the program
was made by the scholar whom I have known well since 1979 as one of the
author of "Crystallographic Groups of Four-Dimensional Space" which I
frequently consult.

Sincerely yours,
