A Chair in Pure Mathematics in the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics
at the University of Kent at Canterbury is available from 1st September
1998 or such a date as may be arranged.

The successful candidate will have a strong research record in an area of
Computational Pure Mathematics and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
The present research interests of the Mathematics group include symbolic
computation, asymptotics, computational and algebraic number theory,
differential geometry, nonlinear phenomena, differential equations and
soliton theory. Preference may be given to a person with interests in
one or more of these areas.
