Thomas Muir

Thomas Muir graduated from the University of Glasgow and after working at St Andrews and Glasgow universities he taught at Glasgow High School. He then went to the Cape Colony in South Africa as Superintendent General of Education. He is best known for his 5 volume History of Determinants. He was a founder member of the EMS and became the second President in 1883.
