As the discussion on keeping track of Tietze transformations is too
technical to be continued in the GAP forum, I have sent my answer to
the above letter directly to Chris Wensley.

Can any discussion about GAP be too technical to be continued in the
GAP forum? I for one don't think so (except maybe if we are talking
about machine specific implementation details); the traffic in the GAP
forum is so low that I can easily ignore any messages I don't
understand.

So why not continue this discussion in public, i.e., in the forum?
