^ Subject: Minor problems with the 4.3 distribution

Dear GAP Forum,

The best laid plans ....

We have found a few glitches in the GAP 4.3 archive files that have been on our
FTP server since the release on Monday. We believe these problems are now al l
fixed, and if you have had problems installing GAP 4.3 that might relate to one
of these, we suggest that you either adopt one of the specific remedies listed
below, or download the affected files afresh and try again.

The problems are:

1. The archives gap4r3.* gappc4r3.* , gapmac4r3.zoo and tdat4r3.* contained a
file README.ctbllib in a subdirectory pkg/ instead of gap4r3/pkg/ . In fact you
can correct this by simply moving the file back to its correct place and
deleting the spurious pkg directory. This was corrected on Tuesday

2. In correcting problem 1, the file gap4r3.tar.gz was slightly corrupted so
that the files pkg/tomlib/read.g and pkg/tomlib/init.g did not unpack
correctly. This was corrected later on Tuesday. You can fix this problem by
downloading and unpacking the small archive file CORRECTION.tar.gz from the
directory pub/gap/gap4/split on our FTP server.

3. Most of the fplsa package was not correctly included in the
accpkg4r3.* archives. This was corrected today (Wednesday). You can fix this
problem by simply downloading fplsa.zoo from the accpkg directory and
unpacking it in the pkg subdirectory.

4. The files unzoo.exe was missing from the util and bin/win subdirectories of
the FTP site until this morning (Thursday). It has now been replaced.

We apologize for any inconvenience that these problems may have caused.
