In a recent letter to the forum was announced that "soon" will be
released GAP's next version. Is there already a time range?

The next version, GAP 3.4 is presently being put together. It will
contain several new components. In particular for this reason testing
it, extending the manual, etc will take some time, hence we do not
want to make definite promises, but we hope that we can release GAP
3.4 in the second half of May.
