Dear Colleagues,

Our department expects to be hiring several postdoctoral researchers for the fall term (which starts in mid-August) of 2022. Applicants need to hold a doctorate at the start of appointment, and the position has a teaching load of three courses per year.
While the positions are open to all areas of interest to the department, several of us have an interest in hiring candidates from group theory and algorithmic algebra.

Applications need to be made to the “open pool” at

https://jobs.colostate.edu/postings/93543

The cover letter should identify a faculty member(s) of interest for collaboration. If your interest is in algebra with interests towards computational group theory you would be most welcome to list one of us. More generally, our research group in Group theory/Combinatorics also includes
Emily King, Maria Gillespie, and Anton Betten. Related research groups are in Number theory and in Algebraic Geometry.

While the pool technically expires only in September 2022, we expect that we will start looking at files in January, and we would thus recommend to submit applications by the end of 2021.

All the best!

James Wilson & Alexander Hulpke
